2 Roanoke Region Firms Awarded Commonwealth Research Commercialization Funds
Two innovative companies from the Roanoke Region of Virginia have been awarded funds from the Commonwealth Research Commercialization Fund.
BEAM Diagnostics
BEAM Diagnostics has been awarded funds from the CRCF Commercialization Program. BEAM Diagnostics aims to integrate cutting-edge research in behavioral economics with advanced technology to improve the lives of individuals suffering from alcohol and other substance use problems. BEAM Diagnostics is grown out of research conducted at the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute. The company previously received grants from the federal Small Business Technology Transfer program and the National Institutes of Health.Â
Micro Harmonics Corporation
Micro Harmonics has been awarded funds from the CRCF SBIR Matching Funds Program. Micro Harmonics, founded in 2008, is actively engaged in developing components used in the technology, research and aerospace/defense/space sectors and specializes in research and design consultancy focusing on microwave, millimeter-wave, and sub-millimeter-wave components. CRCF funds will match Federal Small Business Innovation Research program funds.
