Points North Looks to Life on the Ridge in Roanoke Region
The outdoor resources in the Roanoke Region bring out the best in people, including one journalist from the magazine Points North Atlanta.
In a story titled “Life on the Ridge: Virginia’s Roanoke Valley,” author Jennifer Colosimo travels to the Roanoke Region and finds all sorts of fun inside and out. A self-described “not outdoorsy person,” Colosimo kicks off her trip with a hike to McAfees Knob via the Appalachian Trail with Walkabout Outfitters as her guide.
Along with “catching the outdoor bug” with the A.T. hike and another at Roaring Run Falls, Colomiso also sung the praises of Wildfour Restaurant & Bakery in Roanoke, Maw and Paws Diner in Eagle Rock, and Bubblecake which has three locations in the region.
Along with the glowing review of the region’s outdoor amenities, nightlife, and food culture, the article includes some very fine photography from around Roanoke.
