Roanoke Chef to Appear on Food Network

Grocery Grillin' on the Food NetworkAnyone who has dined at the River and Rail Restaurant in Roanoke knows how creative Executive Chef Aaron Deal can get with ingredients. Now, the whole world is about to find out.

Chef Deal will appear in an episode of Guy’s Grocery Games airing on the Food Network on Sunday, May 25 at 8:00 pm. The show is hosted by Food Network star Guy Fieri, and pits chefs against each other in a cooking competition based around the challenge of shopping for ingredients.

The Food Network describes it like this:

“Guy Fieri sends four talented chefs running through the aisles in a high-stakes, high-skills, grocery store cooking competition. The chefs are hit by real-world challenges like finding workarounds when all the essential ingredients are suddenly “out-of-stock” or having to create a masterpiece when you can only cook with “5 items or less” or on a $10 budget. In the end, the food does the talking, as the last chef standing has the chance to make some serious dough!”

Sunday’s episode is titled “Grocery Grillin’” in which Chef Deal will have to make a grilled pizza using peanut butter, make a meal using mystery ingredients from the bargain bin, and compete in a game called Top Shelf/Bottom Shelf.

Tune in to see how one of the Roanoke Region’s finest chefs does in this cooking game show, and be sure to participate on social media using #riverrail and #grocerygames.
