Roanoke Featured in World’s Best Cities Book
Roanoke is named as one of The Best All-American Cities in the U.S. in a new book released by National Geographic Travel titled, World’s Bet Cities: Celebrating 220 Great Destinations. The book showcases iconic cities like Paris, Rome, New York, London and Tokyo as well as up-and-coming cities such as Denver; Nairobi; and Abu Dhabi.
In the book, National Geographic cites the Star City’s railroad heritage, historic rail district, and O. Winston Link Gallery as part of what makes it an All-American town. The list also includes the home of the first Corvette factory (Bowling Green, KY) and the home of America’s most beloved architect (Buffalo, NY).
This is not the first time Roanoke has been recognized as an All-American City. In 2012, Roanoke was recognized as a top All-American City by the National Civic League for outstanding community problem solving, civic engagement, and collaboration between the public, profit, and non-profit sectors. Roanoke has been named to the National Civic League list six times, more than any other city.
World’s Best Cities: Celebrating 220 Great Destinations is available on Amazon, and wherever books are sold.
