Roanoke Innovation Corridor Grows

Roanoke’s Innovation Corridor got another boost Wednesday as Carilion Clinic announced a $300 million expansion of Roanoke Memorial Hospital that will include a new 15-story tower and a new behavioral health hospital flanking Jefferson Street. 

The tower will include an expanded emergency room and consolidation of the Cardiovascular Institute. The institute is currently one of the largest centers in the U.S. for a minimally invasive valve replacement surgery call TAVR, transcatheter aortic valve replacement. 

Construction is expected to begin next spring for both the tower and behavioral health building.
