Roanoke Regional Partnership Launches New Website with Clean Design and New Real Estate Tool
The Roanoke Regional Partnership is pleased to announce the launch of its new website design for Roanoke.org. A consumer’s first interaction with an organization or business is typically its website. It’s critical to make a good first impression with engaging imagery, intuitive design, and valuable tools to enhance user experience. The new Roanoke.org accomplishes that.
The new website has a clean, modern interface with bold colors and an engaging video of the region that immediately draws in the user. Navigational menus on the top and bottom allow users to easily find whatever information they need about the Roanoke Region. The site also contains megamenus— large, expandable boxes that display all the website information in one place.
“The overarching goal of the website revamp was ease,” said Stephanie Long, director of marketing with the Partnership. “From shovel-ready sites to recreational opportunities, we offer an abundance of information; we want our audience to quickly and easily find whatever they need because they don’t have time to search all over the place.”
And the theme of ease carries throughout the web content itself. While working on copy, Partnership staff kept coming back to how simple life, business, and innovation are in the Roanoke Region. The state’s friendly business climate; the region’s site variety and abundant utilities; the ability to live a fulfilling, active lifestyle at an affordable price; and the cutting-edge tech and innovation institutions in the area—everything is just easier here.
Beyond the attractive interface and functionality, the Partnership added an exciting new site selection tool, Guru by GIS WebTech, based on GIS technology. The interactive interface allows users to search, filter, and map the 200 sites and buildings in the Roanoke Region.
This tool is a game changer for site selectors and consultants, the Partnership’s main audience. It uses data synced from the Virginia Economic Development Partnership site selection tool but with a more modern and robust interface and additional map layers. For example, users can now map demographics and workforce characteristics and generate custom reports on any site in the region based on driving times. This is vital information for site consultants to have, and they can easily and quickly find it on the new website.
The Partnership worked with local digital marketing agency LeadPoint Digital for the project. “LeadPoint was a great partner throughout this process,” Long said. “Without getting too in the weeds, things can get tricky with search engines when you move to a new website. LeadPoint’s expertise ensured that this was a smooth transition.”
Roanoke Regional Partnership staff is thrilled with the new site. Its look and functionality will stand the test of time as site selectors and consultants, C-suite executives, and future and current residents visit Roanoke.org. As with any new site, there can be kinks to work out. If you notice anything amiss over the next few weeks, please reach out. The Partnership will address and work to fix any issues.
