Opportunity Zones Now Online for the Roanoke Region
Profiles of the nine Opportunity Zones in the Roanoke Region of Virginia are now online thanks to the Roanoke Regional Partnership.
Opportunity Zones have been designated by the federal government, created by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, allowing certain investments in the zones to have tax advantages. The micro-site on Roanoke.org lists information on zones in Alleghany County, Covington, Franklin County, Roanoke, Roanoke County, and Salem, Virginia.
Listings for every site include maps, characterization of the zones, identification of possible investment types, and demographics. The site will soon include specific projects and properties suitable for investment.Â
